The convert to Christianity faces a radical overhaul of his/her passions and desires when they come to know God through Christ. Life used to be driven by their fleshly desires. Now their thoughts, speech and actions are all driven by the work of the Spirit in them. Every area of life is affected, including their love-life. Paul coached them as a loving mentor to avoid trying to keep their love-life the same as they used to be.
